Under the ‘Father-Son’ rule in 1992, the Essendon selected Dustin Fletcher, son of former club captain Ken Fletcher. Across six decades at the club, they have combined for a record 664 senior football games.
Each of the 50-numbered gold-foiled cards have been hand-signed by Ken and Dustin Fletcher.
Ken Fletcher played 264 senior games, between 1967 and 1980 (he captained the club from 1977 until 1979) and during that period won the club’s best and fairest award in 1978.
Dustin played in a premiership in his debut season in 1993 and again in the year 2000. In the same season, he was awarded the club’s best and fairest award and was selected in the All-Australian Team.
He played his 400th and final match on the 30th May 2015.
